Hi I am Mel,

Mom to three gorgeous boys and proud owner of Aber Catering.

I moved to the UK from South Africa aged 21 looking to better my life and myself. After studying and earning my qualifications to become a chef I worked in many different establishments to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible.

Myself and my mom(who was also a chef) both wanted to open our own business but I was always too scared to.

After loosing my mom in 2018 I struggled with grief and mental health issues for a few years. During Lockdown I decided I needed to refocus and find my belonging again, this was my time to open “our business” in memory of my mom.

I started in 2020 from my kitchen at home and since have moved to a premises.

I am very passionate about what I do and always strive for perfection. I love creating and making all kinds of delicious foods and baked goods. I always take pride in my flair for presentation and attention to detail as well as giving exceptional customer service.
